You are your children’s first and best teacher! Whether you are a Cornerstone family or not, we want to help you prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond by offering a FREE workshop series that will give your child the skills needed to become early readers – and help get them excited for school! Open to all community members looking for tools, support and information, we are here to help you!

Upcoming workshops are:

  • March 22 – Jefferson-Douglass Academy (A)
  • April 5 – via Zoom
  • April 12 – Washington-Parks Academy (C)
  • April 19 – Madison-Carver Academy (D)

In-person workshops are 4 – 5 p.m./check-in begins at 3:30
Zoom workshops are 5 – 6 p.m.

While the Early Readers program is focused on preparing for kindergarten, we welcome families of children ages 4-7, as the information will also assist you with students currently in kindergarten – 2nd grade. Scroll down for more details.
