Tell us about your Cornerstone journey:

I have been with Cornerstone for 8 years. I began my time with Cornerstone at Washington-Parks, putting in 3 years as a 1st grade teacher and 4 years as an Academic Dean. This year will be my 5th year as an Academic Dean, but my 1st year working at Madison-Carver Academy. I am very excited to get to know everyone at MCA this upcoming school year.

What do you love most about your job?

I truly believe that when the adults stop learning, so do the students. That is why collaboration with colleagues throughout the school building and the CEG community is what I love the most about my job. The idea of working together to impact student achievement is very exciting and fulfilling for me.

What is special about Cornerstone, in your opinion?

The heartfelt commitment of all the stakeholders for continuous improvement in academic programs, instruction, and community.

Anything else you want to add:

As I start this new journey at Madison-Carver Academy, I just want to recognize the amazing experience I had at Washington-Parks. I was fortunate to be a part of a wonderful and collaborative administrative team, work with some of the most dedicated teachers I have had the pleasure to meet, and enjoy the benefit of working with a fantastic and devoted support staff.  During my time there, I learned so much from everyone I had the opportunity to work with, and I grew in ways that I never imagined.
